Fountains for large corporate buildings (Belastingdienst, Gasunie, Menzis), retreating from duty to a passive state. The decorative function and the passiveness of a fountain however touches upon another social idea. The idea that female labour is literally worth less than male labour, rendering female labour less useful and more of a decoration. The fountain as a wasteful, passive and a decorative force parallels the corporate perception of female labour even today. Elise Ehry and Kitty Maria found the right corporate area in Gröningen (North NL) to temporarily take place as human fountains.
